Victoria Alexander has held the position of Deputy Director of Strategic Operations at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) since 2021, during this period she has managed the daily and long term operations of Qatar’s largest and most visited museum, ensuring that NMoQ is always open and providing a welcoming, safe and inspiring experience to visitors, including through challenges such as COVID, the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and several large scale gallery enhancement projects. She is interested in ensuring long-term sustainable, cost efficient operations.
Victoria is a Chartered Accountant and spent a decade working in finance in roles at BDO and Goldman Sachs in the UK and Barclays in Singapore, before pivoting to the cultural sector in 2014, completing the MA in Museum & Gallery Practice at University College London in Qatar (UCL Qatar). Prior to joining Qatar Museums, Victoria was the Operations Director of the National Museum of Computing in the UK from 2016 – 2017 and then spent 3.5 years working in donor grant fund management for European governments and private foundations, managing grantee due diligence, financial review, audit and fraud investigations.
In addition to her degree from UCL Qatar, Victoria holds an MA in Oriental & Management Studies from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
